Lost Holiday

Comedy, Mystery

Two old high-school friends return to the Washington D.C. suburbs to find that their old friend group has changed. Their restlessness leads them to boozily stumble their way towards solving the mystery of the missing socialite. A hip, updated take on the screwball detective story.

Programmer’s Notes: A stunning debut from the Matthews brothers. Shot on Super 16mm film and scored lovingly by James Iha of Smashing Pumpkins, Lost Holiday is a surprisingly refreshing detective story of sorts. The whole thing sparkles and charms no matter how much you try to fight it.
